Halong bay is listed in one of the wonder of new worlds, it is UNESCO heritage site. It has 1000s of small islands most of them are uninhabited and untouched from human interface.
Unlike me my wife got bored soon after watching so many museums and historical places and i decide to take one day trip to Halong Bay. We started at 6:00 in morning from our hotel at old quarters and it took us almost 4 hour to reach halong with a small stop for refreshment.
From halong bay harbour we boarded a ferry . We could see the Spectacular seascape after sometime.
There is no word to describe the beauty of Halong bay.
We were allow to get down on a small floating fishing village with few small house and pontoons .We were told by ferry staff that there is even a small school for kids.
We were given option to go for kayaking or boat trip. We opted for boat trip and passed through beautiful mountains and caves. Best part of the whole trip was crossing the cave and reaching a place surrounded by mountains.
Anchored ferry |
Villagers selling crab and shrimps on floating pontoons |
School on floating village |
We were given a wonderful lunch on board, they even arranged vegetarian food for my wife
We regret not to stay overnight on the boat, it would have been a wonderful experience.
We reached Hanoi in night with wonderful memories.
