We arrived Vung tau from HCMC by hydrofoil and it took  us two hour. Except last 30 minutes of  journey, sea was calm and overall journey was comfortable . We took taxi from the ferry station to our hotel.

I exchanged $100 at reception desk of my hotel in the evening. I got  2,000,000 Vietnamese dong for my $100, which made me a millionaire :) .

We spent next three weeks in vung tau and explored the place on all the weekends. Most of the evening we walked across the seaside and enjoyed the seafood.

There are many tourist attraction in vung tau and it is also weekend place for the locals from nearby cities.

Jesus statue on top of Small Mountain

 The enormous 28m figure of Jesus statue on the top of small mountain  reminded 

methe Christ the Redeeme statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  It is possible to stand on the 

arm  of Jesus and see the beautiful view of Vung Tau. Steps are not very steep

and it was easy hiking for us.

 Greyhound racing

This is only Greyhound racing and legal gambling place in Vietnam.  I bet 80,000 dong on two dogs and lost.

 Niet ban tinh pagoda

 World Wide Arms Museum

This beautiful museum is created by Mr Robert Taylor and his wife Nguyen Thi Bong.

It is certainly place to visit, if you are interested in military related collections/museums.

It is a well displayed and expansive collection.

 

 

 Bãi Sau (Back Beach) 

It is 3 kilometer long  beach  from the Small Mount to Paradise Park.

Back beach is also a good place for night party.We were just roaming around in night and unexpectedly invited by locals to join their beach party.

 Lighthouse

We along with our Vietnamese friends went to have a bike ride to Lighthouse in night.

it was creepy experience.The night view of the whole of Vung Tau from the top was very beautiful.
