Gangtok to Lachung
Memorable Journey for daredevils

STAY @ Iceberg Inn , Lachung Village

We started in morning from Gangtok and the journey lasted for almost whole day. These roads are not recommended for faint-hearten. It was bumpy ride and we witnessed landslides, trees falling on the roads, blasts for widening road, water on the road from natural waterfalls and many more hurdles. The journey itself was memorable experience with forest, river and mountains following all the way. All the roads is made by cutting the mountain periphery , so if you miss the way by one feet you might be going down by thousands of feet. Our driver was local and he was very skilled and well aware of these roads. On the way we saw many dams construction on teesta river.

We stopped at kashi view point for sometime to get glimpse the beautiful Kanchenjunga Mountain in the morning.

On the way we saw two famous water fall known as seven sister fall and bhima fall. Bhima fall is also know as amitabh bachan fall and it is one of the highest waterfall in Sikkim.

So, why did i say that journey is not for faint heartend ??????

We reached lachung in evening and it was cold . After resting for sometime in our hotel. we walked inside the lachung village. It is small but scenic village surrounded by mountains. I could see smoke coming out from the mountains. Teesta river was flowing just besides our hotel and first time i was able to touch the river water. The flow of river was like music in calm surrounding.
