Remains of Glorious past of champa kingdom, Mỹ Sơn (MY SON SANCTUARY) , VIETNAM

TRAVEL DAT - SEP 2012

STAY  @ Dai Long Hotel ($18)
680 Hai Ba Trung Street, Hoi An City Center, Hoi An, Vietnam

Myson is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and the 14th century AD by the kings of Champa. A good portion on the ruin was destroyed by US bombing during Vietnam war. Many artifact from the sites was moved to different museum in Vietnam.
We took sunrise tour for my son and it was one hour drive from Hoi An.  After getting down from Bus we passed through forest with well defined roads. It was designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

Journey through forest

These temples are surrounded by beautiful mountains. This location was intentionally chosen  by cham people to protect the temple from wind.
